Best Orchestral Sample Packs & Loops

8,678 Best Orchestral Sample Packs & Loops 2024

Beautiful. Haunting. Emotionally evocative. These are the qualities many producers are looking to inject their productions with.

Orchestral music can deliver, and this is indicated by the many films, TV shows, video games, and more, that now rely heavily on orchestral scores.

In this guide, we’ll look at the best orchestral sample packs and loops to create cinematic, electronic, video game music, and more.

Real Strings by Organic Loops

Real Strings by Organic Loops

Created by Pete Whitfield, Organic Loops’ Real Strings pack comes with samples that were captured in Whitfield’s studio. It’s no coincidence that Whitfield records real string sounds for an array of projects – TV, radio, media, major labels, and more – at his studio.

Real Strings brings the in-demand arranger’s string sounds right into your recording environment. With breathtaking chord progressions and stunning sonic qualities, you probably won’t be able to create strings that sound this good in your own DAW any time soon.

With melodies, stabs, chords, and more, you’ll find both processed material that’s ready to use, and dry strings sounds you can do with as you please.

The pack contains 116 Acidized WAV files ranging from 90 to 126 bpm.

If your music is lacking emotional content, guaranteed Real Strings will go straight through to your soul. Use the sounds in electro, chillout, or hip-hop. Try them in other contexts as you see fit.

Cinematic FX by Loopmasters

Cinematic FX by Loopmasters

Maybe it’s too obvious to say, but Loopmasters’ Cinematic FX is the pack you need if you’ve been tasked with sound effects and sound design (perhaps in addition to scoring work). Of course, these sound effects might come in handy depending on the type of score you’re working on too.

The Cinematic FX pack comes with digitally enhanced samples on par with today’s blockbuster Hollywood films.

Cinematic FX was created exclusively for Loopmasters, and it’s got an array of material to keep your audience on their toes – jet explosions, wreckage hits, drum slams, flange hits, synthetic impacts, data flares, short circuit sounds, whooshes and sweeps, and much more.

The FX will obviously work nicely in films, but you may find them equally effective in electro, dubstep, drum and bass, and more.

With over 400 MB of sound effect content, adding more excitement to your productions is but a sample pack away.

Epica: Cinematic Vocals & Beds by Freaky Loops

Epica: Cinematic Vocals & Beds by Freaky Loops

In soundtrack work, the human voice holds a special place. When it is used, it is used sparsely, because it tends to overshadow all other musical elements. But used well, it can evoke intense emotion, penetrate the heart, build excitement, and much more.

The Epica: Cinematic Vocals & Beds collection provides the raw materials to work with. Pianos, pads, and music beds provide the foundation on which vocal humming, breaths, whispers, hooks, and more can be built.

The pack weighs in at 1.57 GB, so you might not expect anything less, but it’s nice to know that you can build musical layers, not just vocal layers, with this Freaky Loops entry.

Naturally, this pack will be right at home in cinematic music. But you can also try it in liquid drum and bass, post-dubstep, new age, electronica, ambient, downtempo, chillout, meditation music, and even experimental genres.

Check it out for yourself – Epica is quite cool.

(At the very least, those are some of my favorites.)

Bring a dose of critical importance to your productions with the Epic Movie Themes library, and take it beyond into dubstep, drum and bass, ambient, lounge, trip-hop, house, deep house, techno, and of course cinematic. Or go completely experimental and take this kit into realms beyond.

Future Chill & Cinematic by Wave Alchemy

Future Chill & Cinematic brings something new to the table, fusing the sounds of future chill beats and textural soundscapes with cinematic strings, pianos, percussion, and more.

Is it electronic? Is it acoustic? We don’t know. What we do know is the combination works. It’s incredibly meditative, evocative, and emotionally charged.

And this is what makes it a versatile kit too – you can use it for scoring, you can use it chillout, ambient, downtempo, maybe even lo-fi, and more. It’s all a matter of what you want to do with it.

The kit comes with a mix of drum loops, bass loops, soulful piano pieces, future chill melodies, dreamy pads, drones, drum hits, sound effects, drum kits, MIDI patterns, and Rex2 loops.

Epic Movie Themes Vol. 3 by Singomakers

Epic Movie Themes Vol. 3 by Singomakers

If you read our description for Epic Movie Themes earlier in this guide, then you already know the deal. Epic Movie Themes Vol. 3 brings more audio content to the table that paints a picture of vast and expansive worlds, adventures of life-or-death significance, obstacles of crushing weight, and more.

To me, it does sound a little less “epic” than its predecessors, but how else are you going to bring some variety to the table, right? Vol. 3 explores the calmer, “still in the middle of the adventure” vibes, as well as the essential “unfolding of a historic battle” moods.

The weighty 1.3 GB pack comes with 10 kits and MIDI files too.

Unsane by Cinetools

Unsane by Cinetools

Forget sanity… it’s overrated. Insanity? Commonplace. Unsanity? Now that’s a new dimension.

Cinetools’ Unsane is a disturbing collection of horrifying audio material you can use to amp up the anxiety in the room in an instant.

This is not a small collection, either. It is beyond comprehension at 12.8 GB, with a scary 1,344 files – SFX, atmospheres, distributing FX, shocking layers, stutters, glitches, noises, voices, pulses, trailer loops, transitions, rises, stingers, and much more.

Lack of Afro – Soulful Orchestra by Loopmasters

Lack of Afro – Soulful Orchestra by Loopmasters

My first impression of Lack of Afro – Soulful Orchestra is 70s police drama. Not sure if that’s what they were going for, but that’s what I’m hearing.

Either way, it will likely knock your socks off at 3.23 GB. You’ve got all the goods, including electric guitars, bass, live drums, piano, strings, organs, flutes, vibraphones, and more. For added versatility, you get content in different styles, keys, and tempos (between 74 and 110 bpm).

You can tell Loopmasters took this one seriously, because none of the musical content was “phoned in.” Rela musicians played every instrument in this library.

You can find Lack of Afro – Soulful Orchestra on Loopcloud too.

Symphonic Series Vol. 4 – Piano & Orchestra by Producer Loops

Beautiful. Delicate. Emotional.

Symphonic Series Vol. 4 – Piano & Orchestra brings the gentler, sophisticated side of orchestral arrangements to your computer.

This massive Symphonic Series kit was composed and produced by Stern Muzik. Spanning 5.6 GB of content, this essential library features five construction kits, bringing to life the sound of the piano with other orchestral elements laying the groundwork for the piano to shine.

There’s no lack of variety here, as you will find included bassoons, horns, violins, cellos, and more. There are also major and minor key compositions, and the kit comes with supporting documentation laying out the key signature, tempo, and meter of each creation.

All five kits have a distinctly different feel and sound. While there is some percussion, it is very minimalistic. You should find this a very capable library for film scoring.

In addition to over 500 loops, there are also MIDI files included.

Organic Loops Presents Real Brass Vol. 1 by Organic Loops

Organic Loops Presents Real Brass Vol. 1 by Organic Loops

The sound of brass is dynamic and expressive, which makes it perfect for classic R&B, funk, disco, and soul. This collection could even be used in downbeat, and of course cinematic scores too.

Speaking of this collection, Organic Loops Presents Real Brass Vol. 1 comes with sounds that are perfectly complementary to Organic Loops’ Real Strings. The way the files have been catalogued makes it possible to combine the two packs seamlessly.

These stellar brass sounds were brought to you by Hugh Davies, who arranged, performed, recorded, and produced the library.

In all, you get over 1 GB of content, with loops between 90 and 126 bpm and 60 separate arrangements. The collection also comes with a multi track MIDI file, 600 Rex2 files, and even PDF scores for the loops.
